I SURRENDER

Typically I don't post about hot men. However, I came across this today and I had to, for my own sake (because for as much as I call this a blog, it's my diary, and damnit Ed Westwick is beautiful). So you loose Corey Hart, I totally surrender to this:

a little gatsby...a little skinny tie...

SANS SUNGLASSES

This has got to stop. Where did my brain even dig this up?

* thank god for the internet. if I had not been able to track this down as Corey Hart, I might have gone insane.

AQUA VELVET

I miss Europe.

LISTEN HERE

Over the last 2 weeks I have had a succession of random songs enter my head, averaging one per day. It shows up generally before I leave the house and is an indicator of the feel of the day, or a clue that maybe I will remember at a key moment. It's an interesting phenomenon I have decided to share with all of you. No judging since one day last week was Bobby Brown!

I'M SCARED. ARE YOU?

Meet Cap-Sac. He's like a trip to Atlantic City, for your head via the American Apparel bus. Or maybe it's just that it is a Monday and I am bitter. Meh.

KINGDOM CALLING

Several weeks ago an odd series of missed calls showed up on my mobile. I knew they were international calls by the little + in front of all the numbers. But I didn't recognize the country code. Upon a wee google search I discovered someone in Saudi Arabia was hot on my trail. Interesting. Having never been to Saudi myself I was at a loss until one bright Sunday morning I caught one of those calls. It was my good buddy and former neighbor who shipped out on Christmas for the Middle East (only I though he was in Afghanistan). We had an awesome chat and dang was that satellite phone of his amazing! It sounded like he was in my kitchen with me. Go, go gadget technology.

It was also a polite reminder that we still have guys over there that need all our support and gratitude. USO

SPATIAL RELATIONS

I am a planner. A mind mapping, day dreaming planner. I have lived entire lives inside random Sunday afternoons with good light and an internet connection. I am trying to do more real living and less couch fantasizing. But boy, the prospect of a new space has pushed my wee brain into overdrive, or overdream as it were.

There are a few things that I will need. Like rugs and bar stools and probably lamps. Then there are the things that I will want. Like color and texture and movement. If I was hiring a fabulous interior designer I would say, "Somethings borrowed (books), somethings blue (a stellar, electric, peacock blue), somethings old (vintage Bertoia bar stools) and somethings new (fat, fluffy rugs), and make sure there are wheels and things that hang! Go."

design idea: high planters

for the studio

the lamps over the bar, the rug under the bed

can you imagine a row of these hung high over the dining room table?

UPDATE - THE DREGS

I just packed a box with baking sheets, a vintage Louis Vuitton bag and a stray book. Awesome.

xoxo, wee

THE PREP SCHOOL OF MY 80'S DREAMS

that angel guy just felt me up...

*thanks K!

I HAVE APARTMENT A.D.D.

Tonight I ate pasta out of a box, made with only water (it called for milk and butter) out of the one bowl not packed, off of a plastic fork that may or may not have been the previous cat fork, and guess what? It tastes fine. THAT'S HOW MUCH SALT IS IN THERE!

I have reached that point where I cannot believe how many boxes there are and the kitchen is officially the worst room to pack. Nothing fits nicely into a box and there are things like rice and flour in that box, that could cause a hot mess that I CANNOT HANDLE RIGHT NOW. I have to date made 3 trips to Goodwill already and need to go again tomorrow before work. I have shed 4 full bags of books. I have tossed out countless half empty bottles of soap, lotion and things so old they could no longer be identified (why in the hell did I move those a year ago?) I am staring at a stack of cd's that are so not backed up on my mactop, and they might go anyway. Do I really need a full clothing rack of clothes? Plus 6 bins of folded items and a closet full of coats? Holy god let's not talk shoes. Basically, I am over it. Unless someone brings me a delivery of beer, BIG boxes and someone to do the work while I drink the beer.

I hope I love the next place.

For the love of EVERYTHING, please let me love the next place.
