AN AMERICAN DIET

When did we start needing fiber at 20? I just saw a commercial filled with pre 30 year old ladies for metamucil, benefiber or some such digestive aid. What are most Americans eating that renders this stuff worthy of a primetime ad targeted at Gen Y?

I have lived in California all my life and always had access to fresh, dirt grown food. Does the rest of the country not have such an access? Is my mostly organic, home cooked menu really a novelty to my peers? Ladies, back to the kitchen for the sake of your intestines!!

*ps - I recently bought bread called "Bran for Life" (it was the only organic, non preservative filled loaf left on the shelf) and that works better than any powder in a can I'll bet!
