BIRTHDAY FACTS!

That's right, it's the wee birthday!!! I am here to share all you ever cared to know about March 23rd!!

1972 - Cristóbal Balenciaga, Spanish fashion designer dies (b. 1895).

1983 - the Apatosaurus is made the official state dinosaur of Guam.

1986 - Orange County, California - Laura Small, age 5, was attacked by a mountain lion in the Ronald W. Caspars Wilderness Park. The female lion attacked her head and dragged her off. Laura suffered paralysis of her right side and was confined to a wheelchair for a period of time. She has had 11 operations. Now Laura has a steel plate in her skull. Her right leg is weak, her right arm is partially paralyzed and she is blind in her left eye.

* Laura was my childhood best bud. Very hard to comprehend when you are only 7 years old.

1989 - Stanley Pons and Martin Fleischmann announce cold fusion at the University of Utah.

1998 The movie Titanic" tied won 11 Academy Awards, including best picture, best director and best song, to tie the record set by 1959's "Ben-Hur."

2006 - Desmond Doss, American soldier and first Conscientious objector Medal of Honor recipient dies(b. 1919).
