PREFAB-ULOUS!!
The day before your big birthday you grab SRD and head out of the office early to catch the PreFab architecture panel at the wee MOCA gallery at the PDC!! Which of course turns into an impromptu dinner at your favorite little sushi place around the corner! As luck would have it, this is steps from the original Pinkberry, so you have to get some for the walk back to your wonderful little red car! More nights like this please!
Highlights of the panel included:
A chorus of frogs from someone's cell phone in the middle of a debate on the reality of large scale prefab communities.
"I'm mobile." Ed Moses on being the oldest panelist during the portion of the evening discussing how modern design works better for the young.
"In California you can't discriminate against a modular home."
IndyMac bank loves to finance prefabbers!
My question to the panel, "Do you see this as Plug'n'Play Housing for us young roving and restless designers/artists?" Based on my musing of being able to take your house with you when Malibu is just too damn far, but you adore your home.
it was packed!!
Louis spent some time in an Eames chair while we hammed it up
